Catalyst Combs (formerly known as DRAE) is an alternative artist who draws genre-blending influences from Rage Against The Machine, grandson and Linkin Park - combining elements of hip-hop, electronic, and blues rock alongside observational, insightful songwriting. The result is a high energy melting pot of sound that translates to an engaging and frantic live performance.
He boasts an impressive resume that includes performances at CBC JUNOfest and RBC Bluesfest, as well as showcases at Canadian Music Week and Northern Touch Music Festival. His accolades include a 2017 Toronto Independent Music Award for "Best Urban Recording" and a 2020 Capital Music Award for “Group Of The Year”.
His hit singles “Take Cover” and "Sleep" have received commercial airplay and widespread critical acclaim from the likes of Apt613, Tinnitist, DJ Iceberg (Hot 97/Shade 45) and more, with the latter charting in the top 5 on Cashbox Radio.
His debut album TARDIGRADE is just over the horizon - you can hear the lead singles "Snakes" and "Rain" on all streaming platforms now.
